A Lisbon Coast, luxurious, spacious apartment within a fully managed, child-friendly, condominium. It has a very large living/dining room and a terrace with a wonderful uninterrupted sea-view across swimming pools. The condominium offers security and tranquillity with a gate house that is staffed 24 hours a day and underground car parking (2 spaces) with direct lift access. The living large room is furnished in a classical style, including a double bed-sofa, with a formal dining area and sliding double doors to the terrace. The large kitchen is fully equipped and has a separate washroom and storage room. All three bedrooms are spacious and have fitted wardrobes with generous storage space. The master bedroom has a bathroom (with Jacuzzi bath) en-suite. The second bedroom has two single beds and the third combines as a bedroom and office with a double pull-out futon. The terrace is a sun-trap and is ideal for relaxing and outdoor eating.

We arrange golf packages and offer special rates on green fees to our self catering guests. It may be possible to play with local ex-pats on one of the many excellent golf courses surrounding Lisbon and Cascais. Just email us asking for our offers.
In addition, whilst the golfers are playing a round of golf, we could arrange to take non-golfers on a day excursion . See our tours section (walking tour of Lisbon, Obidos, Sintra or many more options)
Our accommodation prices include bed linen & bathroom towels. We can provide additional cleaning on a daily basis at a charge of €.7.00 per hour (two hour minimum)
Save space in your suitcases for all the shopping you want to take home. Beach towels and beach umbrellas are available to rent at €7.50 per item per week.

Distances

Sintra, a world heritage site is just 20 minutes from Cascais.
Évora, a world heritage site is around 2 hours and Obidos is about 1 hour.
Fátima is about 1 hour.
Algarve coast is around 2.5 hours
Seville is around 4 hours

Externally

Conveniently located near the sea-front & the main railway to Lisbon/Cascais, as well as the motorway and coastal road to Lisbon. Ideally located for those wanting a holiday that combines a city-break (easy access to Lisbon), and a leisurely sea-side break in the nearby picturesque coastal towns of Estoril and Cascais, as well as golfing, surfing, tennis and many other activities. There is a cafe, restaurant, mini-market, newsagent and other shopping facilities within a convenient walking distance of the apartment.

Night life includes the Tamariz Night Club which is practically suspended over the beach in Estoril in summertime only or Jezebels behind Estoril Casino during the winter months. For "the young at heart" (Vangogo) a 70's retro club in Cascais old town. Or take in the International Show or Dinner & Show at the Estoril Casino.

The Artisan Fair in Estoril (behind Casino) each July and August offers handicraft and a variety of restaurants serving traditional food.

Bicycles can be hired locally (no charge) in Cascais and there is a bicycle path which stretches for miles along the beautiful coastline to Guincho Beach.

For the very young or young at heart, take a stroll through the local park (Parque Municipal da Gandarinha) in Cascais. There is an infant playground & mini zoo where you can feed the ducks - or just sit at the local café and read a book whilst the peacocks strut around you. Sit out in the late afternoon and enjoy the sunset on the Esplanade Bar in Cascais (Praia da Rainha), whilst enjoying champagne sangria. Or if you're an early riser, catch the auctions in the square where the fishermen sell their daily catch. Market days are Wednesday (full market day) and Saturday, (fresh produce)

Coast / Beach

A bathing area once known for it's therapeutic characteristics. There is a wonderful walkway (paredao) which stretches all the way along the beach, where you can take refuge at one of the seafood restaurants or bar terraces.

The São Pedro do Estoril Beach is sheltered by a cliff right on the Marginal Road side, and it is great for Sport fishing.

There are two accesses through stairway and another pedestrian one through a tunnel under the road.
The beach is often frequented by surfers.

Golf

There are 5 excellent 18-hole golf courses and a further 2 9-hole courses nearby. Quinta da Marinha, Oitavos, Penha Longa, Estoril and Beloura constitute a varied and challenging variety of courses, which are all welcoming member Golf clubs with plenty of availability to receive visitors and constitute a contrast to the overcrowded Algarve Golf courses. There are a further 5 golf courses within 1 hour driving distance.

Travel

The nearest train station (Sao Pedro do Estoril) is 6/7 mins walk away, and the journey time into Lisbon is 25mins, with direct connections to the Lisbon Metro system. Cascais and Estoril are only a few minutes away by train.It is 17 km from the fascinating historical town of Sintra, 26 km from the centre of Lisbon , and 28 Km from Lisbon International Airport.

Lisbon & Lisbon Coast is an all-year-round destination. Summers, whilst warm are rarely oppressive and the cooling sea breeze keeps it comfortable even during the hottest months. Very mild winters mean you can enjoy your short break in the winter sun in Cascais and Lisbon.

The town of Sintra is a World Heritage Site and well worth a day's visit. There is a lot to be seen, including the Moorish Castle, Pena Palace, National Palace and the mysterious Quinta da Regaleira. Great shopping and restaurants. Markets in Sintra are on the 1st and 3rd weekends of each month.

Lisbon itself has lots to delight; from taking an old electric tram up the steep hills of Lisbon to whizzing up to the top of the Santa Justa Elevator to get a panoramic view of the city of Lisbon. Do visit Alfama (the old quarter) and be sure to wear comfortable rubber soled shoes to avoid slipping on the cobbles. In the evenings, take in a fado evening over dinner in one of the many restaurants in this area. Bairro Alto is also wonderfully lively at night – lots of restaurants, fado houses and late night bars/clubs.

June 12th is the night of the Festival of St Anthony (patron saint of Lisbon) but also of weddings; the best night for trying traditional sardines in Lisbon.

Go by tram - #15 is the best - to Belem. It leaves from Praça Figueira and stops at Praça do Comerçio and Cais do Sodré before going on to Belem - a wonderful place of fountains, parks, monuments and monasteries.

Worth visiting in the Estremadura and beyond are, Óbidos, Sintra, Azeitão & Setúbal, Fatima & Nazaré. Alentejo is a little further (about 2 hours) but worth visiting are Évora and Monsaraz. The Esporão Wine Estate is worth having lunch at if you are going as far as Monsaraz.

If you want to have a good time in Portugal, take this appartment. It is luxuary and have a lot of space for six people. The big balcony has a wonderful overview over the ocean. The next train station to Cascais and Lisbon is just 5 minutes by feet.In this area you will find everything for everybody. Surfingspots, sightseeing and wonderfull beaches for children. My Holiday was great there.
